Gatwick Parking Information
Anyone who’s ever flown out of Gatwick Airport knows how much of a hassle, not to mention expense, parking can be, especially when you’re in a rush. I fly from Gatwick frequently on business, so I’ve had the opportunity to use most of the parking companies available there.
I’ve started arranging my parking in advance online, which has saved me a little time and even a little money. I’ve picked up a few tips about the different companies over the past several years, and I hope my advice can make life easier for others too.
There are approximately 10 different companies offering parking services out of Gatwick International Airport and all of them are relatively easy to get to and offer excellent security for your car while you are gone. If you think that there’s a large difference between dog patrols and police patrols, then you might want to look into this further, but otherwise, take my word for it: your car will probably be safe wherever you park it.
The main thing to consider is how much time you have before you have to check-in for your flight and how much money you really want to spend on parking.
By far easiest option, and therefore the most expensive, is to use the valet parking services of a company like Chauffeured Parking Service (CPS) or PAS. They meet you at the airport at an arranged time and park your car for you. You can then arrange a time for them to meet you with your car when you get back and you’re off! What could be simpler?
The only car park within 10 minutes drive of the airport is Courtlands, which operates regular shuttles to both terminals. The trip to the South Terminal takes 4 minutes and it takes 7 minutes to the North Terminal. However, Courtlands shuttles only go to the North Terminal between November and February, so if you need to get there at another time of year, you are better off parking elsewhere.
It will take about 30 minutes in total to park and reach the airport from Cophall Farm Parking, BCP or APH. The transfer time from any of these car parks is only 10 or 15 minutes. If you are in a rush, Cophall Farm Parking is your best bet, as they can sometimes arrange immediate shuttles to the airport.
Only a 10-minute drive from the North Terminal, you’ll find Holiday Parking and NCP Flightpath North. Both offer fairly similar services, although NCP has shuttles every 10 minutes, while Holiday Parking shuttles run every 20 minutes, which means if you are intent on getting to the terminal fast, NCP is your best bet.
For the South Terminal, it’s best to park at either Parking Express or Summer Special. Both are located on the airport grounds and are about 6 or 7 minutes drive away. If, for some reason, you want to get to the North Terminal, you can just take the shuttle to the South Terminal, then jump on the monorail.
I use a couple of different websites to make my parking arrangements and these are the fastest and easiest to use.
